Although people tried--and died--testing wingsuit designs as early as 1912, it was French skydiver Patrick de Gayardon who created the first truly safe-to-fly suit in 1997. Wingsuits have taken off ever since, from aircraft, vertical cliffs and even mountaintops, redefining the experience of both parachuting and BASE jumping. Maybe one day you too will fly.
